Owen’s Creeper quilt

This quilt was made for my grandson Owen who likes to play Minecraft and asked me if I would make him a Creeper (a character from Minecraft) quilt.  He walked into my house one day and said “Grandma, if you ever have time I have an idea for a quilt that you could make for me.” Of course I was interested, he then showed me some pictures on the internet and we looked through my fabric to get an idea of colours. So I made this quilt as a gift for his eleventh birthday last month, it's twin bed size.

I got some family help and we decided that the Square Dance pantograph by Anne Bright was just the right compliment to the design of the quilt.

Loaded on the Long-arm and just about to begin quilting.

A closer look at Creeper.

A cozy flannel for the back.

I sent if off to Owen for his birthday and I got a phone call, he loves his quilt, grandma and grandson happy!

Owen’s Creeper quilt is my ‘finish’ for the second quarter of the 2016 Finish A Long, be sure to check out some of the many other finished projects, and perhaps join in for the third quarter.

The finish line is just the beginning of a whole new race.

Wonky One Block by Margaret

This gorgeous green batik quilt was made as a wedding gift for friends in Ireland.  Margaret loves working with batiks and generously makes full size quilts as gifts for friends.  Be sure to check out the meticulous inner border on this quilt.

Margaret selected the Blowin’ Wind pantograph by Jodi Beamish and a Glide thread called Persian.

I like Margaret’s use of blocks of batik on the back of this quilt, a great way to use fabric and a lovely compliment to the front of the quilt.

Decorating for a daughter’s wedding

Terry made this lovely quilt for the Gift Table at her daughter Anna’s wedding.

She also made a bunch of little table toppers for the centerpiece of each table.

Terry wanted them all quilted with the Hydrangea pantograph by Anne Bright.

Bits and Pieces …

… two quilts by Judy, one in pinks and the other in blues.  I think these two quilts look so different, mostly because of the colours.

Pink Bits and Pieces quilt

Blue Bits and Pieces quilt
Bits and Pieces Pink was quilted using the Morning Glories pantograph by Patricia Ritter & Marybeth O'Halloran and a peppermint pink thread.

For bits and pieces blue Judy chose the calm water pantograph by Anne Bright and appropriately a Glide thread called Marine.

Two beauties for Judy’s gift giving stash of quilts.
