The Next Step by Sharon

Sharon chose fabrics which I thought were feminine and romantic to make this quilt.  The name ‘The Next Step’ came from a class that I taught which is a gentle ‘Next Step’ after beginner quilting, it introduces you to some new shapes including triangles.

Sharon arranged her finished blocks symmetrically, to see some other arrangements of these blocks look here.

We used the pantograph Double Plume by Keryn Emmerson, I think it has a classy look.

The word 'romance,' according to the dictionary, means excitement, adventure, and something extremely real. Romance should last a lifetime. ~ Billy Graham

Red Paintbox Blocks

I’m thankful for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) which Angela at soscrappy is hosting; it helps me to work on many of my little projects each week.  It is also helping me to keep on top of my fabric scraps (just barely)!

This week for the RSC I worked on two red paintbox blocks, I’m following a quiltalong with Elizabeth Hartman on her blog Oh, Fransson!

And here they are with some of the other colours of completed paintbox blocks, so far I have about 40 done.
