Ocean Waves by Brynne

A gift for Brynne’s goddaughter in England.  Brynne decided on the Ocean Waves quilt in Denyse Schmidt’s Modern Quilts Traditional Inspiration book.  The bits of colour that you see are Liberty of London fabrics.

Brynne wanted it custom quilted with loops, just as the quilt in Denyse’s book, you can get a better look at the quilting from the back of the quilt.

Such a lovely baby gift.

A Kaffe Fassett Tumbler quilt by Lynda

This colourful Tumbler quilt of Kaffe Fasset fabrics was made by Lynda for her sister-in-law Donna, she said it matched her lively personality.

Lynda chose the Chantilly Lace pantograph by Norma Sharp and a Rainbow variegated thread for the quilting.

I believe kind thoughts, memories and hugs are all stitched into this quilt. Beautiful work Lynda.

Burgundy Buck a Block by Cyndy Anderson

Cyndy’s quilt was a part of a block of the month program at a local quilt shop.  Cyndy decided to finish this quilt and give it as a gift to a male family friend whose health was failing.  Such a lovely gift.

This first picture shows the colour of the quilt more accurately.

This next image shows the quilting better.

Cyndy wanted custom quilting, so I put a motif in each square with some straight line quilting in the cornerstones and sashing and loops in the border.

As quilters make quilts with someone in mind, caring thoughts are sent with each stitch.

Caring about others, running the risk of feeling, and leaving an impact on people, brings happiness. ~ Harold Kushner
