A soft green baby quilt

Soft in colour and soft in texture, this flannel baby quilt is made by Joan for a baby on the way.

Quilted with one of Joan’s favourite pantographs called popcorn by Jodi Beamish.

And a soft greet thread called celery.

Joan always likes to piece her back and add a little variety with complementary fabrics.

Kaffe Fassett Tumbler quilt

Nadine made this beauty for herself and now that it is finished and on her bed she says when she wakes up and looks at it, it makes her happy.  It would make me happy too.

Going with a flower theme Nadine picked the Dahlia pantograph by Hermione Agee.  We used a rainbow variegated thread for the top and a peppermint pink thread in the bobbin.

There are 156 Dahlias in all on this quilt.

Here is a glimpse of the complimentary pink backing on this glorious quilt.

Two quilts by Doreen

I’m always happy when Doreen brings me quilts, I like her colourful scrappy style.
This first quilt is called Mumbo Gumbo a pattern by Pie in the Sky quilts.

We did some custom quilting on Mumbo Gumbo, feathers through the stripped pieces in the blocks

And a little design in the diagonal corners.

You can really see the quilting in this picture, just by the way the shadows fall.

The second quilt that Doreen brought me is called Pumpkins, and I think it is a great way to use printed quilt panels/patches.  I like Doreen’s triangle detail in the border.

We used a pantograph called Pumpkin Patch by Patricia E. Ritter and a rust coloured thread.

Looks good with my Lion’s head on the fence, and you get a little glimpse of the pieced back.

Here they both are, ready to go home.

Lead a colourful life, sometimes all you need is a little splash of colour.

Yellow Brick Road

A baby quilt by Margaret, in fun juvenile prints.

Quilted with the tumbling Teddy Bears pantograph by Patricia Ritter and a light turquoise thread.  Can you see the teddy bear?

Maybe a little bit more visible on the back?

A teddy bear is your childhood wrapped up in faded yellow fur, and as such commands attention long after being outgrown.

Shelby’s I Spy quilt

Rhonda is the queen of I Spy quilts – she has more I Spy fabric than anyone I know – and she made this quilt for her daughter Shelby.

To expand the length of the quilt Rhonda added a funky paisley border.

This fun quilt for Shelby was quilted with the Shooting Star pantograph by Sue Schmieden and a rainbow variegated thread.

Terry’s Disappearing Nine-Patch

I’ve seen so many different Disappearing Nine-patch quilts, and I really like Terry’s arrangement and colour choice.

We used the Blowing in the Wind pantograph by Irene Steele and a sand coloured thread to complete this beauty.

I’m collecting squares to make a disappearing nine-patch one day and plan to use Terry’s style when I do.

I still get wildly enthusiastic about little things... I play with leaves. I skip down the street and run against the wind. ~ Leo Buscaglia

Aidan’s Quilt

A delightful Teal and Chocolate Batik Bevel Blocks quilt made by Grammy Evelle, as a birthday gift.

We used the Hot Cocoa pantograph by Jessica Schick and a Marine coloured thread to finish this stylish quilt.

I don’t know where Evelle found this great teal and chocolate fabric for the back, it’s fun and just right.

A label adds the finishing touch and a nice memory to this gift from Grammy.

This quilt is a rich compliment to my blue fence.
