I was looking for a little help, encouragement, support, or just a way to challenge myself to finish the many, many quilty projects that I have on the go, and I am so excited to have found A Lovely Year of Finishes (Challenge).
Quilter blogger Deb A of VT Quilter left a comment on one of
my blog posts so I visited her blog to see what she was working on and I
happened upon her ALYOF post, an answer to prayer! Thank you Deb.
So for September I looked in my closet and decided to choose
something which is close to finishing so that I have a good chance of getting
it done. My green House Sampler quilt
has been waiting to be quilted for a very long time, it’s probably one of my
oldest UFOs (UnFinished Objects).
Here is it with its pieced back waiting to be quilted.

I’m excited! Please
check out A Lovely Year of Finishes to see what others are working on and
perhaps join in the finishing fun.

Can't wait to see your lovely finish - house quilts are a favorite!
ReplyDeleteAh yes Angie, love all your colourful houses.
DeleteYou have an excuse Edith, you do all our quilts. Enjoy finishing this lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shirley, I actually bought my longarm machine so that I could finish my quilts, however my quilts are like the shoemakers family, they wait in line to be done after customer quilts. That's why I like this 'A Lovely Year of Finishes' idea, I'll sneak a few of mine in!
DeleteSo glad you joined in the fun! I found it from another blog I read as well. Good luck with your goals, I know you can do it. I have a 2 week window for mine as I am away for a week and it was a very hectic week before I left. Still do able =). Such pretty green houses -do you have plans for the quilting? That is the part that always stumps me.
ReplyDeleteDeb, one of the reasons this quilt has been waiting so long is because I wondered and fretted about how to quilt it. I've decided to use a leaf pantograph and now I'm relieved. I'm not a very good custom quilter, so I'll stick with my pantos.
