Rainbow Mile a Minute quilt |
This quilt was the first project that I started a couple of
years ago with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (check RSC out), so it was time to finish it
up. The Rainbow Mile a Minute was draped
over a quilt rack in my long arm quilting studio, consequently it got noticed
and pulled out a lot, so it really did need finishing, to keep those seams
intact. So many memories in this quilt, I think I might keep if for myself.
A Rainbow variegated thread and the Baptist Fan pantograph
(which I think looks like little rainbows) by Hermione Agee were my selection
for this quilt.

I found a nice black backing with little dots of all the
colours of the rainbow.
A little sunshine and snow in my back yard.

Please take a moment to stop by A Lovely Year of Finishes to
see what others have completed this month.
Unfortunately A Lovely Year of Finishes will not be continuing next
year, so I think I will continue my own personal challenge, I will post a
project at the beginning of the month that I plan to complete by the end of the
month, being public with my goals should help me to achieve them.
When it rains look for rainbows, when it’s dark look for stars.
A really beautiful finish!
ReplyDeleteI think the Baptist Fans look just like rainbows too. What a bright and happy quilt. It certainly pops on that beautiful snowy background.
ReplyDeleteOOoohhh it's gorgeous! I love it! And the fan quilting is perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! The fans were a perfect choice. And it looks great against the snow! What a great start to the year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish. I love the fans for the quilting. You should really keep this one and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous quilt!
ReplyDeleteLovely finish! The fans were a great choice. I have some similar blocks waiting completion (although mine are log cabins), so now I'm inspired to add them to this year's list of "Must Finish" projects.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this. Great use of scraps and the Baptist Fan quilting for rainbows was a stroke of genius! Congrats on that gorgeous finish.
ReplyDeleteWay to finish out 2015 with a bit of rainbow goodness!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent plan to continue getting things finished! And kudos for finishing up the Mile a Minute rainbow quilt. It's lovely - great choice of quilting designs. Love the quote at the end of your post.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your RSC finished quilt. Congratulations! Cute quote.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome! I can see hookworm this one will be a favorite. It is dark now, so I am inspired to look for stars.
