So many of our quilts have a story, sometimes people share
these lovely stories with me, and so the story of The Garden quilt, with
Carol’s permission…
Carol started the quilt in the early 2000’s and a friend loved
it, Carol was broke, so her friend gave her some money so that Carol could pay rent
with the understanding that Carol would make the quilt for her friend. It
took Carol many years to finish it, her friend had moved to British Columbia
and they had lost touch. Carol tracked down her friends address and sent
it to her for Christmas. Surprise!
Anyone else have projects like this waiting to be finished? I know that I do.

The back ground fabric has flower names on it. We
quilted this with the Blowin’ Wind pantograph by Jodi Beamish and a light tan coloured thread.

Carol’s quilt
On this personal quilt Carol tried out the lettering from
the book Fat Quarter Fonts by Terry Atkinson of Atkinson Designs.

For the quilting design Carol chose the Anne’s Garden
pantograph by Anne Bright and we used an olive green called Split Pea.

Carol used the Go! Fabric Cutter to make this third quilt
is called Arches.
Aches quilt |
Arches was quilted with a pantograph by Hermione Agee called Yin Yang and a cream coloured thread.

Great job getting these three projects finished Carol.
As we grow up,
we realize it becomes
less important
to have a ton of friends,
and more important to have real ones.
