Baby trumps all quilts!

My third grandson was born last night, so today he is the spotlight.  Here is the happy little fellow wearing the sleeper that his dad wore home from the hospital (many years ago).  This precious baby boy was born just in time, last night on my mom - great-grandma Loretta's 81st birthday!  Well done Kevin and Skyla, a new brother for Owen and Mace.
New grandson!

Being that this a quilting blog, I’ll show you his quilt (I still have a few inches to hand sew on the binding).  Mommy Skyla is going for an Owl theme, so I found some cute fabric to use in the border and a complimentary flannel for the back of the quilt.

Quilting was done with the delightful popcorn pantograph by Jodi Beamish and a Hawaiian blue thread.

May you touch dragonflies and stars,
dance with fairies and talk to the moon.
May you grow up with love & gracious hearts & people who care.
Welcome to the world little one.  We’ve been waiting for you.
Every family has a story, welcome to ours.

Scrappy Snow Ball quilt by Terry Morberg

This snowball block by Terry is a couple of four-patches with side strips and then each block is turned, a great way to use up scraps.  I do believe these were all cut from 2 ½ inch strips.

For these snowballs we used the Blowing in the Wind pantograph by Irene Steele and a light olive thread.
