Scrap Happy Saturday

A few completed blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  This is the last Saturday for Aqua/Teal and although I love these colours I don’t seem to have a lot of them in my stash.  Might have to do something about that!

I was able to get one scrappy trip along 36 patch block and four more paintbox blocks and three leaders and enders (I thought I had more of these).

That’s my moment of blogging today, I must get back to long-arm quilting, I have a lot of beautiful quilts in the queue!

Bow River Quilters Guild

Last Friday I had a fun day of teaching the Mile a Minute quilt to a group of women from the Bow River Quilters Guild.  They dug into their scraps and got well on their way to making the scrappy blocks for either a crib size or a twin size quilt.  Here they are with at least one block completed.

Then on Sunday I got an e-mail and picture from Sheila she had her little quilt top completed. I’m impressed, way to go Sheila!

Thanks for a fun day of teaching and sewing, Bow River Quilters!

This easy quilt can be made from scraps and blocks from projects never finished.  Clean out your sewing room for this one, it’s a scrap buster.  Mile a Minute is bright, pretty and wonky - your sashing and border will determine the overall colour of the quilt.  Click on "Mile a Minute tutorial" to use up some scraps and follow my tutorial which goes on for six Tuesdays.
