Last Saturday in September

This is the last Saturday in orange for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, good thing I looked at my calendar as I thought we had another Saturday of orange and I was kind of procrastinating.  I spent an enjoyable evening making a quilted storage box following the pattern by Amanda Jean Nyberg in the book Sunday Morning Quilts.  It starts out with a couple of slabs.

This box has so many pretty sides, I think I’ll have to keep turning it so that I can continue to enjoy all of them.

Once finished I filled it with my orange/peach scraps.

Looks like there are a few more adventures in there.

Have a look at all the other orange scrappy projects at the RainbowScrap Challenge.
I have far too much storage space - said no-one ever.

A little bit me, a little bit you

Made by Terry’s niece Kate who came to stay at Terry’s house one summer while she was away. Kate used Terry’s stash to make this adorable quilt and Terry had me quilt it as a thank you to Kate for caring for the cats.  Hence ‘A little bit me, and a little bit you’.

Terry chose the Dancing Violets pantograph by Patricia E. Ritter.

And a marvelous Mint coloured thread.

Also incorporated into this delightful quilt is back art.

Janet’s Spring Fling quilt

This quilt certainly makes me look forward to Spring, and as Janet brought me this quilt in the Winter I think she was looking forward to Spring as well (I'm a little behind in posting).  I just love the lightness of the aquas, blues and greens.

The Baptist Fan pantograph by Hermione Agee and a thread called cloud complete this light and airy quilt.

Janet used up some of her extra blocks and border fabric on the back of the quilt.

I always like back art, it’s a nice way to expand the back of a quilt, use up bits of fabrics or blocks and adds a complement of design to the back of a quilt.  It even can make a quilt reversible.

Paris in the Fall a quilt by Diane

I believe this is the second quilt that Diane made with this French General Fabric.  The first was a Paris in the Fall block of the month, and this quilt follows the 2014 APQ Quilt along design by Liisa Alexander.  I like the scrappiness of Diane’s quilt and Liisa’s pattern.

Diane selected the pantograph Flowing Feathers by Hermoine Agee which looked lovely on the finished quilt with a Khaki coloured thread.

Diane used all her extra bits of fabric to complete the back of her quilt with back art.

A beautiful quilt to complement the décor of Diane’s home.
