This attractive quilt made by Kaylie is called Strip Twist by GE Designs.  Kaylie’s grandmother Sandra is an avid quilter and brought me her finished top to quilt.

Sandra thought that Kaylie would like the pantograph Blowing in the Wind by Irene Steele, and she selected a celery coloured thread.

Reasons I love the Rainbow Scrap Challenge

As many of you know, if you read my blog regularly, I have been participating in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge for a couple of years now.  I love the Rainbow Scrap Challenge for so many reasons, it:

-           gets me using up my scraps, I’m digging into that bottom drawer of scraps and can actually close it most days.

-          Gives me focus because it features a colour each month, which keeps me playing with fabric, fun, refreshing and motivating.

-          helps me manage my scraps, some bits can be cut into shapes and strips for future projects.

-          Gets me checking out other quilting blogs, great for inspiration and getting to know other quilters.

I’m not sure if Janet made this for her baby quilt stash, or if there was a particular baby in mind.  Janet so generously makes baby quilts for her son’s and daughter to give as gifts to their friends, her husband to give to colleagues and of course her own friends and acquaintances. 

 

I think the Square Dance pantograph by Anne Bright and a cotton candy thread are excellent compliments to the design of this quilt.
