A Quilt for Kate

Lynne made this quilt which she calls ‘Shine on Me’ for her niece Kate.  Although the blocks look random and scrappy, I know Lynne meticulously pieced this pastel beauty, making sure there was just the right balance of colours in each 64 patch quilt block.
Lynne decided on the Chantilly Lace pantograph by Norma Sharp.
And completed the quilt with a lovely label.
What a blessing this quilt gift is for Kate.
If the world seem cold to you, set it alight with your generosity of spirit (and a warm quilt).

  1. People may wonder why this quilt is called "Shine On Me" since there is nary a shiny piece to be found among the 1600 2"x2" squares. Kate is an accomplished keyboardist (the musical kind) and is committed to playing the organ for her church services every week since forever. "Shine On Me" is a familiar hymn....

    1. Thanks for this Lynne, every time I look at this quilt I think it sparkles in a very subtle way.
