Base Line quilt

February’s One Monthly Goal (OMG) is complete.  I had wanted to quilt and bind this Base Line quilt.

Base Line is from the book Hand Quilted With Love by Sarah Fielke.  I first saw this quilt on Pinterest and knew that I wanted to make one, and then shortly after that a couple of quilting friends decided they wanted to make this quilt as well, so we all traded fabrics to give us each more variety.  There are many Kaffe Fassett fabrics in this quilt.

Bound with Kaffe Fassett’s millefiore in blue.

My Base Line finishes at 94 inches wide and 91 inches long, a full Queen Size. It is quilted with the Musical pantograph by Anne Bright and a white Glide thread. Can you see the treble clef?

And some eighth notes?

Potholders in Yellow

This is my second set of these cute leaf potholders, as I prepare for an Artisan sale.  If I keep on track and make a set each month, I should be somewhat prepared for the November sale. Yellow is the colour of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, so here they are in yellow.

You can see my red leaves here, and you will find the leaf potholder pattern at Patchwork Pottery

So far I’m able to work from my fabric scraps and stash, and found these lovely yellows for the back and a pretty dot for the binding.

So many cute buttons to choose from my button jars.

We do see yellow leaves in nature and at the garden centre, however most are seen in Autumn.

Base Note OMG

I loved piecing the top of this quilt and now I’m looking forward to quilting it
This quilt is called Base Note and you will find the pattern in the book Hand Quilted With Love by Sarah Fielke.

Mostly pieced with Kaffe Fassett fabrics, I plan to quilt it with a musical note pantograph that I have.

I used my birthday discount to purchase the backing fabric at Addie’s Creative Fabrics in Cochrane, it’s double wide which I’m not sure will be enough, so my plan is to expand it with some of the left over bits from the front of the quilt.

My One Monthly Goal (OMG) for February is to quilt and bind Base Note.
Many others have their goals posted at Elm Street Quilts OneMonthly Goal link-up.

Yellow Log Cabins

Delightfully, yellow is the colour of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, nice and light for a middle of Winter month.

Carrying on with making little sellable projects for the End of Year/Christmas Artisan Fair at my University, I’ve started February with little Log Cabin bookmarks.  I made a few in yellows and golds and then I was looking for something to compliment the yellow and decided on grey.

Here they are 10 little bookmarks to add to my inventory.
You can see last months Red bookmarks here.

Enjoy your day, I hope you find some time for quilting.
