Recent graduates

A big welcome to the world of quilting to my latest graduates of Quilting 101!

Over a couple of Sundays in February and March I taught the Quilting 101 (beginning quilting) class at Out of Hand, a local quilting store.  Learning a lot of quilting lingo we covered everything from fabric selection right up to binding and after two intensive days of learning and sewing these ladies had a crib size quilt about 95 to 100% finished.  Most were at the point of hand-sewing the binding onto the back of their quilts.

Here they are with their beautiful quilts:

Maryann and Donna

Michelle

Carolyn and Marilyn

Friends Carolyn and Marilyn have taken Quilting 101 before, as well as spending some friend time together Carolyn was using this time to make a baby quilt for her first grandchild expected in May.

Thank you all for taking Quilting 101, I know we have some new (or renewed) quilters thinking about their next project, Maryann has already picked fabric to start a twin size quilt for her daughter, and all are talking about taking Quilting 201!

The beginning is always today. ~ Mary Shelley
