Sharon’s Nova quilt

This lovely quilt was made for Barbara whose home was flooded in the Calgary 2013 flood.  Barbara was a watercolour artist and these batiks reminded Sharon of her art.

The Dancing Violets pantograph by Patricia E. Ritter shows so nicely on the quilt.  We used a marine variegated thread.

Joan’s Baby Quilts

Joan has a lot of babies in her life, some are her grandbabies, and then she makes quilts for her extended family and friends too.  Here are her latest three.  The first all in flannel is for Isabelle’s baby sister, we know it’s a sister, the name is still a secret.

Yellow Brick Road Baby Quilt
For this peachy quilt in the Yellow Brick Road pattern we used Joan’s favourite pantograph for baby quilts (mine too) Popcorn by Jodi Beamish.

Popcorn Pantograph
Here is another again in flannel and the Yellow Brick Road pattern, the same prints however a different colourway, a bit more blue/green.

Also quilted in the popcorn pantograph for this quilt we used a celery colour Glide thread.

Joan finished the back of this darling quilt with something I always love - back art – using up all those little bits and pieces of complementary fabrics from the front.

Joan’s third quilt is called Dragons, what fun fabric!  This quilt is for baby L.

Dragons quilt
Dragons was quilted with the Spirals pantograph by Denise Schillinger with a Rainbow variegated thread.

Green & Orange Star quilt

Lorie made this fiery quilt at a Judy Niemeyer class that she took in Phoenix, and I think it was made to add to the décor of Lorie’s winter get-away home in the south.

The Caliente pantograph by Patricia Ritter is a great match to this hot quilt.

I don’t know if Lorie could have found a better fabric for the back of this quilt.

A Low Volume quilt

Diane called this quilt ‘My Low Volume Quilt’ and I think she actually wanted to call it ‘My One and Only Low Volume quilt’ as it is not exactly her style.  Diane usually pieces with warmer and more vibrant colours.  I think she did a nice job putting these low volume prints together.
Low Volume quilt
Diane picked the very traditional Orange Peel pantograph by Patricia Ritter and a cream coloured thread for quilting.

Easy Orange Peel pantograph
Being efficient with these low volume scraps Diane completed her quilt with back art.

Seasons quilt by Lauralee

This large sampler quilt really does showcase the seasons in colours and in each of the quadrants.

Saesons Quilt
We picked a light tan thread to quilt the Blowing in the Wind pantograph by Irene Steele.

Carol’s quilts

A couple of pleasing quilts to show.  Carol made this fun, colourful quilt as a prank gift for her neighbour Peggy who ‘Does Not’ like chickens, and then cheekily names it Peggy’s Chickens.  It is a beauty.
Peggy's Chickens quilt
I was able to find a great pantograph by Patricia Ritter called Funky Chicken.  She’s a bit hard to see in the busy fabric, can you make her out?

Funky Chicken pantograph
We used a candy apple red thread for the quilting.

I love the chicken fabrics in this quilt and love the great fabric Carol found for the back.
Well Peggy still doesn’t like chickens, however Carol tells me she loves her quilt.

The second quilt is an Eye Spy quilt and was also made as a gift, not sure who the lucky recipient of this quilt was.
Eye Spy quilt
My husband is always impressed with Carol’s eye spy quilts and her variety of delightful prints.

One of Carol’s favourite pantographs is Crazy Puzzle by Dave Hunter, and for the Eye Spy quilt we used a Pacific blue thread.

Doreen’s Snowball quilt

A lap size or crib quilt, in lovely Autumn tones, and a wonderful use of scraps.

Snowball quilt

Quilted with a honey gold thread the Dancing Violets pantograph by Particia Ritter shows off so nicely in the light coloured snowballs.

More use of fabric scraps in this quilt back, where again the Dancing Violets are very noticeable.
