Two times Toonie Tuesday

Star Quilt

This Star quilt was a monthly program at Freckles Quilt shop.  This little star sampler that you see inside the large star was available once a month on a Tuesday and it cost $4.00 or two toonies (what we call a two dollar coin in Canada).  All the money collected was donated to a couple of Calgary high schools to go toward helping students in need.

At the end of the program customers could purchase the finishing kit, which for this quilt was the larger stars, sashing, borders and binding.  I think it finishes the quilt nicely.

Quilted with the Shooting Star pantograph by Sue Schmieden.

The Canadian 2 dollar coin, commonly called Toonie, was introduced on February 19, 1996.
