Rock Candy

Rock Candy Quilt

Today is my daughter Olivia’s birthday and it’s a special one, she’s twenty-one.  So here is a picture of her quilt.  Olivia has always loved the colour purple; a few years ago she changed bedrooms and decided to paint the new room a coffee colour.  However she realized that all of her accessories and decorations where purple, so we helped to pull it all together with a purple and chocolate quilt.

Olivia wanted something that looked like O’s, this quilt called Rock Candy and was taught by Sandra Raskin at a Quilting retreat in Kananaskis.  I believe Sandra adapted the pattern from a French quilt after a return from a quilting vacation in France.  Chris Tessier did the longarm quilting (before I got my APQS Millennium longarm quilting machine) and adapted the Panto Musical by Anne Bright to look more like O’s.

Happy Birthday Miss Olivia!

Those who sleep under a quilt, sleep under a blanket of love.
