Canada Day

Back Art on Loft Quilt

This quilt makes me think of Canada Day, the back of the quilt is full of Canadian theme prints, maple leaves, ducks, bulrushes, pine cones and postcards, all in a lovely warm flannel fabric.  The front of the quilt is a pattern called Loft from the book Quilts Made Modern by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr.

My neighbor Candy made this quilt (two quilts in one) as a wedding gift for a friend’s son, a Canadian man who met his American wife in China and her favourite colour is green.

Detail of Calm Water on back

It is quilted with the Calm Water pantograph by Anne Bright.

Today we celebrate Canada’s 145th birthday.

A world without generosity is no more imaginable than a year without its seasons.
