This week I worked on a couple of Scrappy Trip-along quilt
blocks in aquamarine, which is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge colour for February.

These blocks will join their brothers and sisters - I have
seven blocks of ten different colour groupings.

Okay, I just realized that this will be a big quilt, I’d
better stop now. If I make it 8 x 8
blocks, which is 64 blocks it would finish at around 108 x 108, that’s King
size, and I’d be left with 6 blocks, yikes.
I’ll have to rethink this. Time
to stop sewing Scrappy Trip along blocks.
Have a look at all the pretty aqua (teal) projects for February’s
Rainbow Scrap Challenge at Soscrappy, and come by next Saturday to see another aqua project in progress.
Another quilt with the extras or there's always Cynthia's Orphan Adoption! It will be coming up next month at Quilting is more fun than Housework.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you could make two quilts instead? A queen and a cot quilt?
ReplyDeleteOh those are very pretty! You could make a lot of quilts with them? instead of just one?
ReplyDeleteYou could make 2 quilts at 6 x 6 and only have to make another 2 blocks of a colour with your most scraps.
ReplyDeleteYou could always turn those extra blocks into baby quilts. Little ones love bright colors.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a big quilt!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great collection of pretty blocks! Extra blocks, if you have too many, could always go on the back!
ReplyDeleteI love to put the left over blocks on the back for a modern looking side. Some beautiful trip blocks.
ReplyDeletethose blocks look great in a single colorway
ReplyDeleteAwww - don't stop sewing Scrappy Trips - just make another quilt!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I really like the little bees! I like Jo's idea of two quilts, but it's going to be great no matter what you decide!
ReplyDeleteI love your Scrappy Trip blocks! You could sort them into two color ways and/or use extras as alternate blocks for another block pattern. So many choices - can’t wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteAll great suggestions. I like seeing extra blocks on the back. You've done a wonderful job and whatever you do, those blocks will not go to waste.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many possibilities with those lovely blocks! It will be fun to see what you do with them!
