Blue Scraps

A few scrappy little High Five blocks for July’s Rainbow Scrap Challenge and the colour blue.

The High Five pattern is by Amanda Jean Nyberg and can be found in the book Sunday Morning Quilts.  I realized after I took the picture of these blocks that I had made my June/Yellow blocks way more scrappy, oh well, this gives me some creative license with the rest of the colours and months of  scraps that I get to add to this quilt.

A few more leaders and enders to add to the postage stamp stash.  I might have to take stock soon to see how many I have, how many more I might need and what size of a quilt I’ll be making.

Sad to say good-bye to blue, my favourtie colour.  I could sew blue scraps forever - and I have enough of them as well, however I'm looking forward to next week to see what colour Angela at Soscrappy will pick for August and the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and I'll dig into a new bag of scraps.

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

  1. You did justice to your BLUE scraps this month. I think your blocks are among my favorites to make. SEW easy and so forgiving!!

  2. Great quote. I know what you mean about waiting to see how many units/blocks you've got before deciding what quilt to make with them.

  3. I like your High Five blocks! I've borrowed that book from the library, but don't remember the pattern. I may just have to check it out again!
