What a treat when I saw that the Rainbow Scrap Challenge
colour for this month is blue, my favourite colour and I’ll take it as a
special birthday present as well, since this is my birth month.
My first little project in blue is two birch tree quilt
blocks by Amanda Jean Nyberg who blogs at CrazyMom Quilts, the hand-dyed
background fabric is Colorways by Vicki Welsh. I also snuck a
few leaders and enders in blue for a future scrappy postage stamp quilt.
Now I just have two orange birch tree blocks waiting for a
month of orange and all the blocks for this little quilt top will be complete,
you can see the orange peeking through under the blue blocks.
On a blue theme, I began to prewash some Star Trek and Star
Wars fabric for a couple of TV cuddle quilts, I have to get moving on this
project – wedding gifts for my brother-in-law and new sister-in-law – hopefully
I’ll be posting these finished by the end of August!!
You can enjoy and view many other blue scrappy projects at
Angela’s Rainbow Scrap Challenge Saturday post on her Soscrappy blog.
Do doot doot do do do, do doot do do do do - Don't worry - be scrappy.
I love that birch tree quilt, and it certainly looks wonderful in blue! That will be a great quilt. :D

ReplyDeleteYes...I still love those Birch Trees!
ReplyDeleteThere's so many Star Trek and Star Wars fans out there who would enjoy a quilt with those fabrics.
