Gypsy Wife Quilt Top

I was able to complete my November ‘One Monthly Goal’ (OMG), which was to get the Gypsy Wife by Jen Kingwell (now called Wanderer’s Wife) quilt top together.  

It was a lofty goal and took up all of my quilting time in November.  If it wasn’t for a quilt weekend get-away with a couple of girlfriends I wouldn’t have achieved this goal.  I spent three full days of finishing up filler blocks and then trying to organize the top, which is put together with ten different sections.  

I’d have to say it was like putting together a difficult puzzle.  I love puzzles, so it was a gratifying challenge although I did feel like pulling out my hair at times. 

This quilt was started in 2013 as a Block of the Month (or week) project through a local quilt shop – Out of Hand.  I love the scrappiness and colours in this quilt, I think I’ll have to keep it for myself. 

So happy to have this quilt top complete, now I’ll have to find the right backing and binding.  I already have an idea of which pantograph I want to use to quilt it, that will be a future OMG.
