Green Paintbox Blocks

To start this month’s Rainbow Scrap Challenge (participate or investigate at soscrappy) I made these little Green Paint Box Blocks (from Oh Fransson! quilt along).  Three were as much as I could do with the solid scrap of green that I had.

There are a few other solid greens in my scrap collection, so I’ll probably make a few more Paint Box Blocks before the month is over.  Which one should I use next?
Solid green scraps

I seem to have a lot of green bits in my scrap stash; hopefully I’ll make a dent in them this month.  As I look through my green scraps some of them seem so old, it might be a good time to cull the collection.

Some other words for green: emerald, apple, aquamarine, chartreuse,  jade, kelly, lime, malachite, moss, olive, pea, pine, sage.

  1. Chartreuse... I just love the sound of that. How about a nice bright lime green with the one on top? Great blocks. I love the use of a solid ... I think we tend to forget to use those and they really add interest and a resting place on quilt blocks. Thanks for the reminder!

    1. Yes, some luscious words and connotations, I had a favourite auntie who drank Chartreuse. Thanks for the green vote, I'm leaning toward the lime as well.

  2. What a great selection of green solids. The paintbox block is a great way to put them to good use.

    1. I didn't know I had so many solid greens, until I started collecting my scraps this month. It will give me some variety with my Paintboxes.

  3. I am a fan of Paintbox blocks/quilts, so I'm looking forward to seeing more! I know what you mean about older green fabrics - I'm trying to thin some from my stash as well.
