The Colour Orange

The month of September is Orange at soscrappy’s RainbowChallenge, which I love to participate in.  Over the past week or two I’ve worked on my little orange four-patches for my Rainbow Rows quilt (by Lissa Alexander), just over 80 little four-patches here.

I’m now finished the four-patches in all the colours I need.  I also have all my two and a half inch low volume squares as well as the sashing.

I’m excited to get started on sewing the blocks together.  There will be one with four little four-patches in it and one with five of the four-patches. I’ll start by just pulling four-patches out of the stash, however knowing me I’ll start to control it in some way.

Do take a moment to check out The Rainbow Scrap Challenge and see what others are doing with orange.

The colour orange is named after the appearance of the ripe orange fruit. The word comes from the Old French orenge, from the old term for the fruit, pomme d'orenge. That name comes from the Arabic naranj, through the Persian naranj, derived from the Sanskrit naranga.

When you squeeze an orange, orange juice come out- because that’s what’s inside.  When you are squeezed, what come out is what’s inside. ~ Wayne Dyer
