A Rainbow quilt finish

This month I chose my Rainbow Mile a Minute quilt as the project I wanted to finish for the Lovely Year of Finishes December finishes party.
Rainbow Mile a Minute quilt
This quilt was the first project that I started a couple of years ago with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (check RSC out), so it was time to finish it up.  The Rainbow Mile a Minute was draped over a quilt rack in my long arm quilting studio, consequently it got noticed and pulled out a lot, so it really did need finishing, to keep those seams intact.  So many memories in this quilt, I think I might keep if for myself.

A Rainbow variegated thread and the Baptist Fan pantograph (which I think looks like little rainbows) by Hermione Agee were my selection for this quilt.

I found a nice black backing with little dots of all the colours of the rainbow.

A little sunshine and snow in my back yard.

Please take a moment to stop by A Lovely Year of Finishes to see what others have completed this month.  Unfortunately A Lovely Year of Finishes will not be continuing next year, so I think I will continue my own personal challenge, I will post a project at the beginning of the month that I plan to complete by the end of the month, being public with my goals should help me to achieve them.

When it rains look for rainbows, when it’s dark look for stars.

  6. Lovely finish! The fans were a great choice. I have some similar blocks waiting completion (although mine are log cabins), so now I'm inspired to add them to this year's list of "Must Finish" projects.
