Elaine’s quilt

This quilt was sitting unfinished for a long time, Elaine had started it in Australia and was working on it while going through a difficult time in her life.  Things have improved and Elaine is now happily in Canada and she happened to tell Diane, a quilter, about her unfinished quilt, Diane encouraged her to get it finished so Elaine contacted me.

We thought that the Falling Leaves pantograph by Dave Hudson would be a nice quilting design and we used a maroon coloured thread.

Elaine doesn’t own a sewing machine anymore, so I sewed the binding on as well.  She was delighted to pick up the quilt, the finished quilt seemed to bring closure to this chapter in her life.  She was so thankful for Diane’s advice.  There is such a good feeling around finishing, that’s one reason why I like long-arm quilting.
The finish line is just the beginning of a whole new race.
