Neutral for the RSC

A long time ago when I first found the Rainbow ScrapChallenge and the colour of the month was neutrals, I felt stumped, how could I do neutral, how would this fit into my Rainbow quilt?  So I made nine neutral blocks with a touch of the rainbow in each block, and all this time they sat on the shelf, I wasn’t sure what to make with these nine little (7 ½ inch) blocks.

Then this month when Angela announced that we were doing neutral, I pulled them out and the creative juices started to flow.  I have so many neutral scraps, so for this month I’ll probably just keep making low-volume Mile a Minute squares, and I just might end up with enough for a whole quilt.  Wouldn’t that be great?  I think I might continue to add the occasional colour, perhaps pastels to some of the blocks.

So here are the blocks I finished last night.

If you are interested in the Mile a Minute technique I have a tutorial which starts here, and goes on for six weeks (six blog posts), caution, it's addictive.
