Blue and White Mile a Minute quilt

I’ve achieved My One Monthly Goal (OMG) for October which was to make these blocks into a quilt top.

Thanks to a retreat last weekend with some of my quilting friends I was able to get it done.  On point and with a piano key border.

Quilting and binding will be another month’s goal for this quilt top.

Twice a year four of us take a weekend away to the Invermere, Fairmount valley to focus on our sewing, piecing and quilting projects.  Here are a few pictures of the weekend.  It started with this lovely view on our evening drive out.

The next morning we saw this fellow, helping himself to the berries right outside the back window.

At lunch a couple of deer wandered by.

Here we are happily at our machines.

Aside from my Blue and White Mile a Minute quilt, I finished three Squared Away quilt blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and a pillow-case for my (wanna be) nautical themed bedroom.

While we were packing up the vehicle we had another visit from our black bear, this time just outside the garage door.
A refreshing weekend and another OMG completed.  Check out other finishes at Elm Street Quilts, so far there are 64 this month.  Consider joining in the fun, it sure helps me to finish up.
In order to keep my creativity alive, I just try to enjoy life to the fullest. ~ G-Dragon
