Tickled pink

Pink Rainbow Scrap Challenge

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for March is pink, so more Mile a Minute squares.  I was so proud of myself for getting these quilt blocks done and a picture taken early in the week, all ready to post on Saturday and then… I left my camera at the quilting class I was teaching this weekend – so I just had to sneak them in today.  There are a bunch of pink scrappy blocks and projects to see go check out the Pink Party at the Soscrappy blog, you will be inspired.

The word "pink" was first used as a noun to refer to the color known today as pink in the 17th century. The verb sense of the word "pink" continues to be used today in the name of the hand tool known as pinking shears.

Pink is not just a color, it's an attitude.  ~Author Unknown

  1. These are cute too. I have to find out more about these mile a minute squares. If you make them like crazy patch, I might like sewing them.

    1. Hi Kathy, actually they are more like log cabin, you just keep adding on the next side, only they are not square and in the end you cut them wonky. I hope to do a tutorial, better get my act in gear.

  3. These pink Mile a Minute blocks are so cute. I like them very much as a single colour block. Such a great way to use up every little scrap. Don't you just love working with pink! Thank you for the trivia that is fun to know.

    1. Mile a Minute is a great way to use up scraps, I have trouble throwing any fabric away so save anything bigger than one inch in a drawer and when I can't close it, it's time to start another Mile a Minute - I'm liking this Rainbow Challenge as it's helping to 'shut the drawer' and I'm having fun sorting and resorting.

    1. Thanks Sarah, that lovely fabric was given to me by a student, she gave me her scraps after class because she knew how much I loved the fabric. You can see her quilt in my January 29 post 'Quilting Lessons' it's Maxine's sister's quilt.
