Two little scraps of Sunshine

The sun was shining this morning so I decided to get a picture of my yellow scrappy trip along blocks (for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge) in the yard with natural light.
Scrappy Trip Along

This is about as much Sunshine as we are getting here in Calgary as we’ve had excessive rain and melting in the mountains (about eighty miles up-river from us) and our rivers have flooded.  Here is a Calgary Herald link, click on the little next above the photo to see the gallery of flood pictures.

I thought I had more yellow scraps to work with, but was only able to find enough to make two scrappy trip along blocks, and do a little scrap management.  Most of the other fabric in the pile was off white, cream or beige
Scrap management

I do have a few pieces which I’m reluctant to use until I’ve completed my Buggy Barn Crazy Heart quilt as I might want to use some in the borders, accent or cornerstones… and then this morning I found these hiding under some red, so looks like I’ll be able to make at least one more scrappy trip along block.

More yellow scraps!

And just for enjoyment a patch of yellow flowers in the garden.

  1. I saw some pictures of the flooding earlier today - my sympathies to all affected. Nice that you had some real AND fabric sunshine today!

  2. I, too, saw pictures on the news of flooding in your area. So tragic.
Love your yellow blocks. And scrap management.
