April Goal Complete

My OMG (One Monthly Goal) for April was to quilt and bind this Blue and White on point Mile a Minute quilt, and it is done.  A full size quilt measuring 88 x 102 inches. 

I hurried home from work to take the picture while the sun was still out and there was a nice patch of snow for the background, and you can see I have a few clips holding down the binding.  Once I finished supper I sat down and finished hand sewing the binding. 

My daughter picked the Entangle pantograph by Hermione Agee, she thought the design was a nice compliment to the on point blocks, I have to agree. 

I used larger pieces from my stash to piece the back, the binding is patchy as well.  It feels good to use fabric that have, rather than buying more, I honestly can see my stash shrinking (just a little).

 I’m thankful to ElmStreet Quilts for hosting this OMG, as it keeps me on track with finishing the many projects I have on the go.

Blue and White Mile a Minute OMG

Another month and with it a goal to complete another quilt.  My One Monthly Goal (OMG) for April will be to quilt and bind this Blue and White on point Mile a Minute quilt. 

Completing this quilt top was my goal for October 2018, and you can see the blog post here.  I think it is the oldest quilt in my project book, so I would like to get it done as I've nearly completed all the quilts in the book and I am ready to move on to new ‘keeping track of projects’ book.

I am going to piece the back out of the larger pieces in my blue collection, to helpfully whittle down this stash a bit.

Neutral Mile a Minute Quilt

I did it, I completed my One Monthly Goal (OMG) for March.  It took more time than I thought and I was quilting all day yesterday, and spent the evening sewing the binding while catching up on my Netflix.

This twin size quilt top was started and completed during a Neutral month of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  All these scraps came from a 10 inch freezer bag full of neutral or low volume fabric scraps, you can see the original blog post at NeutralMile a Minute.

I decided that I wanted to quilt it with spiral circles, which meant I needed to use my domestic machine, whew, it was a lot of work.  I have so much respect for people who quilt on their domestics.  Not sure that I would do another of these, however I do love the effect. 

I used larger bits of neutrals to piece the back of this quilt, along with some left-over squares from the front. 

The spiral circles look pretty neat on the back as well.

Three Baby Quilts

Time for some of my quilts.

I picked up all this lovely fabric at the Houston Quilt Festival (I believe it was four years ago), and promptly made these three baby quilts. 

The first was from a set of pre-cut chenille squares. 

I did use a batting with this quilt and a flannel backing, however if I was to make another chenille quilt I think I would leave out the batting, I felt it was a bit too thick.  The flannel on the back was enough.

I simply curvy quilted over the seams. 

The second little quilt I called Flannel Animals. 

In keeping with the theme, I thought the Animal Crackers pantograph by Patricia E. Ritter was a nice choice for this quilt. 

This last quilt was a Pineapple Fabrics Charm Pack. 

I used the Go Go Go pantograph by Anne Bright for quilting, can you see the little truck?

All three of these quilts have found new homes.

Two quilts by Janet

As you can see by this month’s posts, Janet kept me very busy with quilting.

Here we have a Low Volume quilt called Crazy Eights. 

The Circuit pantograph by Anne Bright is a good compliment to the squares and rectangles in Janet’s quilt. 

This street map fabric is a great choice for the quilt back. 

Alphabet Love is the name Janet picked for her Nine Patch baby quilt. 

Quilted with the ‘I Love It’ pantograph, also by Anne Bright. 

You can see it a bit better on the back. 

Just a peek of the Pearl Bracelets backing fabric.

Cait & Mike’s Wedding Quilt

Anna made this wonderful wedding gift for her friends Cait and Mike. 

Quilted with the Square Dance pantograph by Anne Bright and a titanium coloured thread. 

She picked great fabrics and a great backing for this quilt. 

Friendship, sewn with love and measured by kindness.

Alison made two quilts to help celebrate and decorate for Christmas.
