Red Birch trees

The colour of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and the first project I chose to work on is my Birch Tree blocks.

Red Birch Tree quilt blocks
The Birch Tree Pattern is by Amanda Jean Nyberg, she has a blog at Crazy Mom Quilts and is one of the co-authors of the book Sunday Morning Quilts.  My background fabric is from Colorways by Vicki Welsh, I won a Rainbow of Vicki’s fabric in a past year when she was sponsoring the RSC.

My red Birch Tree blocks, joining the other completed blocks.

I’m really enjoying this pattern and looking forward to future months and colours with the RSC to get this whole baby size quilt done.

Take a moment to have a look at all the colourful projects at Angela’s Soscrappy blog.

  2. LOVING your RED Birch Tree blocks!! I like the focus of choosing a project for your RSC sewing. SEW much better (to me) than making random blocks with no set purpose... which is what I did for my first 2 years of participation!

  3. Those birch tree blocks have been calling my name. It seems I am seeing them everywhere right now, so that means I should try to make some, right? Yours are just beautiful.
